  • Short Bio:

Dr. Abir acquired his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from SBMC, Dhaka University and MPH (major- Epidemiology) from American International University, Bangladesh with Summa-Cum Laude distinction and Dean’s Award. He also attended the summer school Program in Thailand organized by Mahidol-Oxford Research Unit and GBI. After joining Bangladesh Civil Service, he was enrolled into FETP program and started MSc. in Applied Epidemiology in 2022 in Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR). As an FETP trainee, he has conducted several outbreak investigations and surveillance evaluations demonstrating his enthusiasm on One Health approach for pandemic potential and climate sensitive diseases (Cholera, Nipah, Anthrax etc.). He has international experience with proficiency in English, Bangla, French, Hindi and Arabic.
