Global Laboratory Leadership Programme (GLLP) Bangladesh — Call for Applications

The Global Laboratory Leadership Programme (GLLP) is a competency-based leadership development programme designed to strengthen national laboratory systems through skilled laboratory leaders. It is jointly developed by WHO, FAO, WOAH, US CDC, ECDC and APHL, and aims to mentor current and emerging laboratory leaders to strengthen laboratory systems using a One Health approach.
Training
The programme comprises classroom-based learning (both physical & virtual), mentorship and work-based practical assignments. The programme follows a blended learning approach, consisting of five 5-day residential training sessions and regular virtual classes throughout the programme. Competency Framework includes Laboratory system, Laboratory Leadership, Laboratory Management, Quality Management Systems, Communication, Biosafety & Biosecurity, Disease Surveillance & Outbreak Investigation, Emergency Preparedness, Response & Recovery, Research— alongside mentorship, leadership projects, peer learning and regular mentoring sessions.

Eligibility Criteria

| Education | MBBS + postgraduate qualification in Laboratory Sciences or related field | DVM/BSC Veterinary science & Animal Health + postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline |
| Employment | Government health officials only | Government Professionals from the animal health sector |
| Experience | Min. 3 years relevant laboratory experience | Min. 3 years relevant professional experience |
| Age Limit | Maximum 45 years | Maximum 45 years |
Preferred (both sectors): experience in laboratory management/supervision/leadership or quality/network strengthening; demonstrated leadership potential; strong communication & teamwork; commitment to institutional improvement.

Selection Process
1. Applications will be screened per eligibility criteria.
2. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted.
3. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for Viva Voce. The date will be notified to the selected candidates.
4. Final selection will be based on Viva Voce, experience, leadership potential and suitability.
5. Ten (10) candidates will be selected in 1st COHORT on the job training
6. Selected candidates will be invited to join the programme.
